Why Macroevolution Is Inconsistent

Posted by Adam Terrell at 12:35 PM on October 23, 2009

First off, if one believes the Bible is the literal Word of God, then he must believe in Creation. Because if one says that he believes it all but says that this part can be altered from the literal meaning, then that person is placing himself as an authority over God Himself. He is no longer letting God tell him how it is; he is telling God how it is.

If one leaves the Bible open to individual interpretation, that one is now a liberal Christian which equates to personal religious preference instead of conviction. That person does not fully believe in his own, religious foundation's authority, nor can he fully apply it or benefit from it. Once one has undermined one aspect of the Scriptures, the rest duly falls into question.

If one does not consider himself a liberal Christian, here is why he must accept Creation as literal for any of the New Testament to be relevant. If Genesis is dismissed as poetic or mistaken, along with it goes the need for God's payment for every man's shortcomings. The Creation account gives mankind the reason for a needed remission for wrongdoings, clothes, the differences between man and God, and the differences between men and women.

One may not need to believe in Creation for salvation, but when this is thought through, if one fully accepts evolution (even if one believes that God used it), then he has no need for a savior, because the punishment for sin (death) existed before man sinned. Conversely, if one fully accepts the Biblical account for Creation, then he cannot reconcile it with evolution. Darwin tried to give a naturalistic process (for which the basis still needed a supernatural beginning) for how life came to be. All Darwin did was unlock the authoritative door of Scripture via knowledge.

Therefore, if Darwinism is correct, then the authority of God is not even tantamount to one's mother asking one to clean his room. However, if one accepts God as the authority, the One to whom all shall all give an account for the imperfections each has, then he should treat God's Word accordingly.

EITHER there is a standard, and every individual falls short, OR there is no standard, and no one is accountable to God. Therefore, if there is no standard, then it matters not what anyone believes. One's fate is the same whether he believes in God or not. However, if there is a standard, then everyone goes to one of two places, then it matters what one believes. The quarrel I have with evolutionists is that they act like their belief matters in regard to truth which it logically does not.

All that is asked of those who read here is this:

That they realize that there is a standard, and no man meets it. No man could, can, nor ever will be able to pay his debt to God. The good thing is that God paid it for each person. All anyone has to do is accept His gift and His authority with it.

In Christ,

Adam

This is really good, Adam. There are a few evolutionists who understand this concept, but very few. Keep the posts coming.

Well said, Adam! I liked your points about how there are many inconsistencies with evolution, especially in morality issues. =)
